Green crusader of the year award:-


Maneka Gandhi, the well known politician of BJP has been awarded with the “Green crusader of the year award” for her contribution in the field of animal rights. Similarly Prasoon Joshi, executive director of MccaM World received the “green agency award” and “campaign of the year award”.

Gollapudi Srinivas National award 2013:-


Gyan Correa, the director for the movie ‘The Good Road” which was the first ever Gujarati movie to get an Oscar nomination has been bestowed with the “Gollapudi Srinivasan National Award”. The award has been named after the famous director Gollapudi srinivas.

Russia suspended from G-8:-


France has claimed that Russia has been separated from the G-8 group and now the new group would be known as G-7. The sanctions have been made on Russia after huge its military interventions in the protest stricken Ukraine which further led to its integration and Crimea joining Russia.

World’s most polluted cities:-


As per a survey done by the World Health Organization (WHO) Iran’s Ahvaz city is the most polluted in the World. Ludhiana and Kanpur are at the 4th and 9th place in the list respectively. These are the two Indian cities which feature in the World’s most polluted top 10 cities.

New cities from India for World Heritage sites 2014:-


Ran-ki-Vav (Gujarat) and Great Himalayan National Park (Himachal Pradesh) are the two Indian sites which have been nominated for the UNESCO’s world heritage sites 2014. The world heritage committee (WHC) which will organize its meeting in Qatar in June 2014 will take the final call on providing the status of World heritage sites to the nominees.
