Navy chief of India resigns


Navy head of India Admiral D K Joshi resigned by after taking the moral responsibility of the recent incident where fire broke out in Indian submarine INS Sindhurakshak.

He is the first admiral to resign before completing his full term. Vice Admiral Robin Dhawan is the interim chief of Navy.

New head of ONGC


D K Sarraf will be appointed as the enw chief of Oil And Natural Gas Corporation and he will take over the reins from CMD Sudhir Vasudeva.

Indian Electrical Body signs an agreement with global institute


Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) and New York based Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU). It will promote collaboration in skill development in the electronic field.

IEEMA is the head institute of manufacturers of industrial and electronic and allied equipments in Inida.

India and Azerbaijan tie up in the field of energy sector


India and Azerbaijan will constitute a joint working group in the field of hydrocarbon. India also called for investment in the field of hotel industry tourism and infrastructural development as India allows 100 per cent foreign direct investment (FDI) in hospitality sector on automated basis.

Indian courses get a world ranking, 2014


Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) which is a world university ranking agency put forward its data for the year 2014. It was a subject ranking in which under the civil and structural engineering subject IIT-M and IIT-B have secured 49 and 50th position respectively.

Under the electrical and electronic subject IIT-D and IIT-B have been ranked at 42 and 489 respectively. In material science, Indian Institute of Science has been ranked at 46.
