Eligibility to pursue agriculture science at various levels

I am interested in knowing different eligibility criteria to pursue agriculture science at different levels?


You need to possess strong skills and should have good foundation in botany, physics, chemistry and mathematics to pursue agriculture science. There are different degrees like Under-graduate, Post-graduate, Diploma and Doctorate available and offered by most of the colleges in the field of agriculture science. To apply for different degree course the eligibility criteria is as follows:

B.Sc/B.Tech in Agriculture science- Requirements are as follows:
- Requires 10+2 or equivalent with chemistry, physics and biology.
- Requires minimum 50% marks.
- Duration of this course is 4 years where one year is for internship in companies that provides training on agriculture science
- Admission is based on merit or performance in entrance exams
- Exams are either concerned by individual universities/colleges or it is conducted by ICAR.

Master’s Degree- Requirement are as follows:
- It requires B.Tech degree or B.Sc degree in the relevant degree
- The duration is of 2 years
- Admission is on the basis of performance in under graduate degree and marks obtained in previous degree

Ph.D- Requirements are as follows:
- Requires post graduate degree like M.Sc/M.Tech in the field that is chosen for Ph.D.
- It is a 3 years course
- Provided by all the universities/colleges
