Sample letter to extend an interview offer to a later date

My name is Namit Shastri. I’m glad to receive the communication regarding an interview with your organization for the designation of the Zonal Head at the Andheri East office of SOTC Banking Ltd., against my application for the same on 12th Feb’14.

This is to bring to your kind notice that my interview date as per the Interview Offer Letter is scheduled on The 5th of March’14. However, I’d like to let you know that I won’t be able to make myself present at the venue on the given date since my engagement happens to be on the same day as the interview. As you might understand that it’s an auspicious event for the family and myself, it is impossible to defer the same to a later date as everything is already arranged and relatives have started pouring in.

Therefore, I request you to delay the interview till the next week
(i.e. 12th March,’14) and I’ll be there at the given venue on time. I surely do not miss this opportunity to join one of the fastest growing companies in the industry, as on this day.

Hope you’d understand the seriousness of the issue and co-operate with the delay.

Looking forward to your reply at the earliest.

I am ABC, M.Sc. Biotechnology, received the interview call letter from your esteemed organization, EF Biotech and Co., for the post of Research Officer. I am very glad to receive the letter; and apologise for my inability to attend the interview on scheduled date. I look forward to appear for the interview at a later date.

I had met an accident last week, and got my ankle fractured. I had been operated and the leg is plastered right now. I have been advised bed rest for a period of 15 days. The plaster will be removed on 14th Mar’14. I would be permitted to move only after the removal of plaster and ensuring that the bone fragments have reunited.

The interview is scheduled for 10th Mar’14. My earnest requests to postpone my interview call to a later date; preferably after 15th Mar’14. I was very keen to join your organization, and feel too guilty to give such an excuse at the initial stage itself.

I had waited to hear from you for a long time, and can assure you to provide the best output in every task assigned to me. I just need an opportunity to prove myself. I believe you could understand my genuine reason. I have also enclosed the medical certificate from my consultant physician and also the photograph of my plastered limb, to prove my honest appeal for delaying the interview.

Kindly consider my concern and help me with another interview call letter for a later date.

    Thanking you in anticipation.
