Specializations in agriculture science

I would like to know the agriculture science in more depth so I can focus on growing areas?


Agriculture science deals into converting agricultural materials into healthy food that can be distributed to consumers. In this process there are lots of disciplines that are involved like biology, chemistry, physics and mathematics in the overall conversion of agricultural commodities. It includes many specialization and different tasks that consists of different areas:

1. Food science: this area includes researching new ways to improve the work of preserving, processing, packaging, storing and delivering of foods. This area involves you to analyze food content to find out ingredients like vitamins, fat, sugar, or protein. They are always in search for substitutes for foods that are harmful, in condition and different preservatives.

2. Plant Science or Horticulture: this area consists of many other fields like: agronomy, environmental science, plant breeding and entomology.

3. Soil Science: is the area of different compositions consisting of physics, chemistry and biology. This area of study is concerned with the overall growth of the plant.

4. Animal Science: this area is concerned with the research and development of the overall processing of food products like meat, fish and dairy.
