There are several branches of astronomy which being a part of physics can be an aspiring field for a candidate who want to do specialization in specific parts of astronomy. These specific sub fields are astrophysics, astrometeorology, astrobiology, astrogeology, astrometry, cosmology etc.
Astronomy professionals can also choose either observational astronomy, which deals with observing celestial bodies using telescopes, binoculars, cameras and unaided eyes or theoretical astrophysics, which is into data analysis, taking out the results of observations and to analyze the results, as their specialized fields of study and work.
