Beauty contests in no way degrading the womanhood, but on the other side it is enhacing their professional career. It is helping the woman to come out of their houses and take part in the contest to groom their talent. It provides a platform on which they can showcase their talent and tell the whole world that they are not behind anyone. It allows women to gain name for themselves and make their family and parents proud. It helps them gain finances and help them economically. It allows women to gain a place in between other highly qualified people and it adds a new dimension to their beauty and life.

Beauty contests require the contestants to diet and slim, and fit the stereotypical image of 'beautiful' women. It is against the androgynous society that feminists propose. Beauty contests do degrade the image of the women in the society. Beauty contest makes them vulnerable to the attacks that can be wither physical or mental in nature. Exposure is good but it should not come with a price.
