▼ Asian Games gold medalist Satyapal was awarded the Padma Bhushan on March 30, 2015   [03-30-15]

Satpal has coached two-time Olympic medal winner Sushil Kumar. He was honoured with prestigious Padma Bhushan Award. Total 12 persons have been conferred with Padma Bhushan Award.

His family members received the award from President Pranab Mukherjee. Madan Mohan Malviya is fondly remembered for his initiative for establishing institutions that reinforced the cultural identity of the country. He was a moving force behind the establishment of Banaras Hindu University. The credit for popularising the slogan of Satyameva Jayate also goes to him.

The ISRO is engaged in making space technology a catalyst of development to bring about societal transformation. In the process it has become one of the six largest space agencies of the world. The Gandhi Peace Prize for social, economic and political transformation through non-violence was instituted in 1995. The Award comprises an amount of Rs.1 Crore and a citation.

Two-year-old girl Cherukuli Dalli Shivani from Vijaywada has achieved a stunning feat and became the youngest Indian to score 200 points over five and seven-metre distances. At a show in Vijaywada in the presence of seniors ports personalities and India Book of Records officials, she shot 36 arrows each from five metres and seven metres to score 388 points.

On behalf of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Shahriar Alam received the award at the Women in Parliaments Summit held in Adis Ababa on 24th Mar’15. Women in Parliament Awards are given based on World Economic Forum's Global Gender Gap Reports. Bangladesh has been placed among the top 10 countries in the world in reducing gender gap by the World Economic Forum.

▼ Former PM Becomes Seventh Indian Prime Minister to receive Bharat Ratna   [03-30-15]

Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee is the seventh prime minister to receive the Bharat Ratna award after Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, Morarji Desai, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Gulzarilal Nanda. He is 44th awardee of Bharat Ratna Award. His birthday 25th December was declared as Good Governance Day by the Narendra Modi government.

He is a well-known water conservationist from Alwar district, Rajasthan in India and known as Waterman of India. The judges of the Stockholm Water Prize say his methods have also prevented floods, restored soil and rivers, and brought back wildlife. Stockholm Water Prize is commonly known as Nobel Prize for Water.

He is the 46th Dada Saheb Phalke Award Winner. In 2011, Mr Shashi Kapoor was honoured with Padma Bhushan. He is also a recipient of 3 National Film Awards. His cinematic journey as a lead actor started in 1961 with the movie Dharmputra and acted in more than 100 Hindi films.
