▼ AP proposes special police stations and guidance centres for tourists   [04-13-15]

Andhra Pradesh state Government is contemplating to form a Special Police Force for safety and security of tourists in the state. The proposal is in active consideration as part of the state New Tourism Policy.

Meghalaya Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma asserted that the project will make differences in the lives of the people in the State and will give an opportunity to the youth to unleash their talent.

Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong will launch the Centre as a focal point for the Indian community, and a platform to learn more about the diverse Indian heritage in Singapore. Indian architecture and artifacts would be showcased at the Indian Heritage Centre. The first of its kind museum in the country will be inaugurated on 7th May’15.

▼ Japanese train travels at speed of more than 600 km per hour in April 2015   [04-4-15]

Japan's state-of-the-art Maglev train clocked a new world speed record in 21st Apr’15 in a test run near Mount Fuji, smashing through the 600 kilometre per hour mark. The new record came less than a week after the company recorded a top speed of 590 kph, breaking its own 2003 record of 581 kilometre per hour.

Liquor consumption has alarmingly increased in Kerala over the years and has spread to all sections of the society. Subodham project aims to free one lakh people each year from alcohol addiction, through comprehensive, systematic awareness campaigns. The aim is to achieve the ambitious target of making the state totally alcohol free over the next ten years.

▼ Air Canada to resume direct flights between Toronto and Delhi after 10 years   [04-3-15]

Air Canada had announced that it will begin non-stop service from Toronto to Delhi from November 1, with a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft. Air Canada had halted flights on the Toronto-Delhi route in 2005 as the service had become a poor financial performer in the airline's global network.

▼ Masarat Allam arrested for raising Pakistan flag in Srinagar rally   [04-3-15]

He has been arrested in the case registered in police station Budgam in connection with the provocative actions during the said rally. The arrest comes hours ahead of Hurriyat Conference chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani's call for a march to Tral area of Pulwama district where a youth was allegedly killed in a cross firing incident between the army and militants. Almost all separatist leaders including Syed Ali Shah Geelani, have been put under house arrest, in view of the Tral March Call.

▼ Agni III missile successfully test fired from Odisha Coast on 16thApril 2015   [04-3-15]

Agni-III has a length of 17 metres and launch weight of around 48 tonnes. Agni-II has already been inducted in the armed forces since June 2011. The 3,000 km range indigenously developed surface-to-Surface missile, protected by a carbon all-composite heat shield, blasted off at 9.55 in morning from a mobile launcher at Integrated Test Range in Wheeler Island of Dhamra.

▼ Canada to supply uranium to India for civil nuclear plants   [04-3-15]

The supply will start from 2015, highly placed sources said. Canada is the third country to supply uranium to India after Russia and Kazakhstan. The supplies will be under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards. Canada used to supply Uranium to India prior to 1970, but stopped it after Pokhran nuclear tests.
