Bachelor of Physiotherapy or BPT is a 4 ½ year undergraduate course which includes the 6 months mandatory internship and uses the physical therapy, physical movements, exercises and massage to treat, improve and cure the injuries or deformities. This field deals with the diagnosis, examination and assessment of the condition and then providing the rehabilitation for the concern. The difference of physiotherapy from other traditional medicine is that it uses the measures of physical therapy in treatment instead of giving medication to the patients.

The students who have passed 12th standard from science stream with a minimum 50% aggregate are eligible to apply for this course. Some institutes have admission procedure on the merit basis, whereas some others conduct individual entrance examination for the admission process. The students who complete the 4years of clinical and theoretical sessions on all the subjects are made to undergo a 6 months compulsory rotatory internship posted in different departments. The degree is awarded only after the completion of the internship.
