Long-term goals

Asked by: Guest - 20 May 16
Soon I was happy to have convinced my interviewer for a long-term association with the organization, he asked my long-term goals. He has already asked the benefits of hiring me for the company. How should this reply be different from my previous one?

The long term goals of an employee is not just for the benefit of the organization, but also the self growth. The answer should ideally start with the aim and ambition to utilize the potential in the development of the organization.

The long term goal is not to stick to the job profile being applied for, but to grow within the organization by innovative ideas and skills which could aid in adding to the output of the company. Greeting the company with many new potential clients and adding to their business and taking up new proposals, implementing and proving a net gain in production output could be a convincing reply.

Candidate should make sure that they should not get excited while narrating self career growth, as the hiring manager may not like to hire a candidate who could be a potential competitor for his own position.
