    - The machine tool, in which calculation and setting of the operating conditions like depth of cut, feed, speed are done during the machining by the control system itself, is called Adaptive Control System.

    - It is a logical extension of CNC system in which the operating conditions of CNC system are specified by the used in the form of program.

    - The necessary to acquire complete knowledge of the properties of the workpiece and the machining tool materials as well as coolant conditions to determine the operating conditions of CNC system.

    - The advantages of Adaptive Control (AC) System are as follows:

    1. It is more productive than the conventional NC machining.

    2. Increased tool life in AC system

    3. Part programming is easier in AC system

    4. Workpiece is always in protection from possible damage.
