    - The materials such as lead and barium, which are added with polymers to minimize the effect of heat, sunlight and ozone are called as stabilisers.

    - Direct and indirect impact of heat and UV light degrade the polymer. Therefore, stabilisers are added in polymers to sustain these impacts.

    - Stabilisers can be used as UV absorbers as they dissipate the absorbed light energy from UV rays as heat.
