  • She was unable to break Ukraine athlete Inessa Kravet’s world record of 15.50m set in 1995.
  • The 20 year old Ibarguen also became the youngest female winner of a triple jump Olympic medal and Kazakhstan’s Olga Rypakova secured bronze.
