There is a master plan for making Chandigarh a Model Solar City under Development of Solar Cities Programme of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
  • The solar city cell has also been established.
  • UT administration in the city empaneled 48 solar power aggregators on the basis of which any resident of Chandigarh can install Rooftop Solar Power plant and avail 30 percent subsidy.
