Q.  What is the change in the value of transmitted power when the modulation index changes from 0 to 1?

ANSWER: 50%
 
Pt = Pc ( 1 + m2/2)

Pt= Pc ( 1 + 02/2) = Pc ..(1)

New total power Pt1= Pc ( 1 + 12/2)
= Pc *3/2 ..(2)
(2) / (1),

We get , Pt1/ Pt= 3/2= 1.5
Pt1= 1.5 Pt
i.e. there is increase in total power by 50%
