    - Erosion corrosion is caused due to loss of film material due to high velocity or high turbulent fluid flow.

    - Energy transfer from fluid to wall is increased due to high turbulence intensity. The dissolution rate of protective film increases due to increased turbulence.

    - This erosion can be controlled by varying the velocity of fluid because erosion corrosion is caused due the joint action of molecular corrosion and solid particulate.

    - This corrosion can be controlled by proper selection of resistant material, by decreasing the flow velocity and by minimizing turbulence.
