Committee to study the existing sports governance frame workThe Government has decided to constitute the Committee to study:

i. the existing sports governance frame work,
ii. issues relating to sports governance in the country,
iii. recent developments related to sports governance, including court judgments & international best practices
iv. and make recommendations on bringing out a comprehensive National Sports Development Code across sports disciplines.

It will be headed by Injeti Srinivas, Secretary (Sports).

The member are:

i. Abhinav Bindra,
ii. Anju Bobby George,
iii. Nandan Kamath,
iv. Prakash Padukone,
v. Narinder Batra,
vi. Bishweshwar Nandi,
vii. Vijay Lokpally
viii. and Joint Secretary (Sports)

Terms of reference of the Committee:

i. to identify basic universal principles of ethics and good governance based on the IOC Charter international best practices,
ii. draft National Sports Development Bill,
iii. draft National Sports Development Code, 2011,
iv. Supreme Court and High Court judgments, etc.;
v. to identify issues pertaining to good governance in administration of sports
vi. and to make specific recommendations for bringing out a comprehensive Sports Code to address the issues of governance pertaining to the National Olympic Committee and National Sports Federations.
