Q.  When a transformer is supplied by full load at 0.8 p.f. lagging its copper losses is given by Pcu. if it is supplied by half load then copper losses will be

    For Full-load, Transformer Loading = 100 %, X =1
    For Half-load, Transformer Loading = 50 %, X =1/2
    we have,
    Full load copper loss = Pcu
    Copper loss = X^2 * Full load copper loss(Pcu) = (1/2)^2 * Pcu = Pcu/4
