    - Deviation is defined as the amount by which size of component differs from basic size.

    - Basic size is defined as the desired or theoretical size which relates to the position of zero line.

    - The component may differ from basic size and result in deviations. This deviation may be positive, negative or zero.

    - The deviation is considered as positive if the observed value exceeds reference value and is negative if the observed value decreases than reference value. Zero deviation is observed when there is no change in the value.
