Electro-deposition method is used to produce metal powders from aqueous solutions and fused salts. Electro-deposition method is reverse of electroplating.

Different conditions favoring electro-deposition are low temperature, high viscosity, high acidity and addition of colloids, etc.
The powder produced is dendritic and has low apparent density and flow rate. Electrolysis of sulphate or chloride bath is used to produce iron powder.
