DSO has a provision of storing the waveform by sequential approach of digitization & its storage in a digital memory and its retrieval for display on storage oscilloscope. It features several probing tools such as differential probe or signals interconnect system.

It exhibits serial architecture so as to perform the sequential functions like data acquisition, storage and data display. It comprises serial pattern trigger because it helps in isolation of data-dependent failures in single acquisition.

Conversely, DPO & MSO both exhibit the parallel processing architectures. This is so, because DPO performs integrated acquisition and display management by rasterizing digitized waveform data into digital phosphor database with an assistance of parallel processing architecture.

However, MSO acquires & measures the combination of signal types as well as speeds by means of parallel processing architecture.
