Austempering process: This method is designed to overcome limitations of quenching and tempering process. The metallic component is heated to austenizing temperature and is further cooled in a salt bath furnace. When cooled it is maintained at temperature below nose of TTT (Time temperature transformation) curve and above transformation line.

    - The end product obtained is 100 % bainite when temperature of both centre and surface are same and are made by interrupting quenching process.
