Reduction method is a chemical method and is affected by particle size, shape of materials, reducing agents, temperature and time required for reduction. It is the oldest method to produce metal powders. In this method, starting material used for reduction are mates, oxalates and halides. The size, shape and porosity can be controlled by this method as it is convenient, economical and flexible.

Reduction method is used to manufacture Fe, Co, Ni, Mo etc.
