To contribute to the mission Swachch Bharat Abhigyan launched by India’s PM, Ministry of Railways has taken the initiative to provide human discharge free bio-toilets in all coaches. The Ministry has also inaugurated the First Green Train Corridor Rameswaram to Manamadurai free from human waste discharge.
  • The Rameswaram Manamadurai track of 114 km was identified to make it a Green Train Corridor free from human waste discharge.
  • After Rameswaram Manamadurai, the other tracks to be made free from human waste discharge from trains include Oklha-Kanalas, Probandar-Wansjaliya and Jammu-Katra.
