    Time of flight is the time that elapses from the instant of projection till the particle reaches the horizontal plane through the point of projection.

    The formula used to determine time of flight for projectile motion, when point of projection and point of landing are on same level of horizontal plane is :

    Time of flight = (2u sin α) / g

    here,

    u is the initial velocity, α is the angle of projection.
