    Connecting rod

    - The connecting rod connects piston to the crankshaft, in reciprocating piston engine. It transfers motion from the piston to crankshaft.

    - Connecting rods convert rotating motion into reciprocating motion.

    - In internal combustion engines, connecting rods are made of steel for production engines.

    Piston displacement

    - The piston moves 2 x stroke of the piston, when the crankshaft rotates through 180° i.e from Top Dead Centre (TDC) to Bottom Dead Centre (BDC).
