Government of India has slapped anti-dumping duty on chemicals from 5 nations namely Iran, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and Taiwan.
  • The import restrictive tax has been imposed for 5 years by the Revenue Department on recommendations of the Directorate General of Anti Dumping and Allied Duties.
  • Import of chemicals from 5 nations will attract anti-dumping duty in the range of USD 83.08 per tonne to USD 168.76 per tonne
  • Department has also imposed anti dumping duty on the imports.
  • Chemical Purified Terepthalic Acid was being delivered to the country from five nations below the normal value
  • As a counter-measure, they impose duties under the multilateral WTO regime
  • Anti dumping measures are taken to ensure level playing field in the domestic industry
