    - HDLC (High-Level Data Link Control) is a data link layer protocol developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).

    - HDLC can be used for point to multi-point connections.

    - It is a bit-oriented code transparent synchronous data link layer protocol.

    - HDLC implemented widely because it supports both half duplex and full duplex communication lines, point-to-point and multi-point networks.

    - HDLC is designed to permit synchronous, code-transparent data transmission.
