    - Erosion corrosion is caused due to loss of film under high velocity or high turbulent flow.

    - Erosion corrosion can be controlled by using following methods:

    1) By selecting resistant materials: Materials having high surface hardness should be selected.

    2) Flow velocity: The corrosion rate can be decreased by reducing velocity of fluid flowing through pipes.

    3) Turbulence: Erosion corrosions can be reduced by minimizing turbulence. For this purpose, smooth hydrodynamics and suitable inhibitors should be used.

    4) Large angle bends, diameter of pipes and or by deburring erosion corrosion can be controlled.
