In hybrid- π model, the capacitance offered by reverse-biased collector base junction is known as transition capacitance.

Apart from this, forward-biased base emitter junction also provides the capacitance known as diffusion capacitance.

Howerver, with respect to the configuration of hybrid π model, only two capacitances are offered corresponding to forward & reverse-biased nature of junctions.

Since the transition capacitance is provided by reverse-biased collector base junction, it is also renowned as collector junction barrier potential.
