IIM Sambalpur in Odisha will be mentored by IIM Indore till it moves to a permanent campus or is able to operate independently. Till then, IIM Indore faculty will teach at the facility. The first PGP programme was started in IIM Sambalpur Odisha with 49 students. The director of IIM Indore, Professor. R. T. Krishnan is the Mentor Director of this educational institution. State of Odisha has allotted 200 acres of land to IIM Sambalpur. Sum of INR 80 crore has also been sanctioned for an airport to improve air connectivity of the IIM.
