India’s sex ratio has shown slight improvement according to health minister JP Nadda who also talked about the impact of government interventions and policies. As per the data received from the Office of the Registrar General of India, sex ratio of total population by residence has grown from 933 females per 1000 males in 2001 to 943 females per 1000 males in 2011. Number of registered female births rose over 1.06 crore in 2013 from 94.63 lakh in 2012. This was as against 1.18 crore male births in 2013 and 1.04 crore in 2012. Recently released Census 20111 also showed sex ratio was lower among women with only one child.
