    - LASER (Light amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation) beams are high energy density electromagnetic beams. They are highly coherent, unidirectional and monochromatic.

    - Laser Doppler Velocimeters use laser Doppler principle. Light experiences a change in its frequency when it comes in contact with a moving object depending upon velocity and direction of the object. Laser Doppler Velocimeters use differential Doppler technique to measure velocity.

    - It is a technique which uses Doppler shift in a laser beam to measure velocity. Velocity is measured in transparent or semi-transparent fluids or vibratory motion of opaque.
