There are three types of production process.

    1. Job order production: It is small scale production process. It is carried out in small factories and suitable foe various works. The workers required for this process should have skills and very good ability to perform a task. It is very flexible to perform operations.

    2. Batch or quantity production: This is a common type of production and is carried out in medium scale industries where there is no enough resources for mass production but can produce jobs for local market. The jobs are produced in a lot or in certain quantity. It is a flexible production process with some limitations.

    3. Mass production: The jobs are produced continuously without loss of time in mass production process. It requires a good site plan, special machinery and expensive jigs and fixtures. But the disadvantage of mass production process is that it is not easily changeable for other types of production and costlier to changeover. This makes it least flexible production process.
