The Grete Lundbeck European brain research prize (also called the Brain Prize) is an international scientific award. Through a phenomenon called long term potentiation, scientists have described the mechanism behind human ability to navigate, learn and remember their surroundings. Connections between hippocampus brain cells can be strengthened through repeated simulation resulting from long term potentiation.
