- Macaulay's method is used to determine deflection.
- It is a technique to determine deflection of Euler-Bernoulli beam during structural analysis.
- This method is convenient for discontinuous and discrete loading.
- Section X is taken on last portion of beam and the bending moment of each force or the uniform distributed load is separated by compartment of lines.
- The slope equation is determined by integrating bending moment equation. The deflection equation is obtained by integrating the slope equation.
