Ceramic materials are made of metals and non-metals and are inorganic and non-metallic. These materials are partly crystalline or completely crystalline.

Non-crystalline ceramics become brittle below recrystallization temperature. Ceramic materials are ionic or covalent bonded materials and can be crystalline or amorphous. These materials have high compressive strength than tensile strength.

These materials have different nuclear, thermal, chemical and electrical properties.
