    - MIG welding process is a refinement of TIG welding process.

    - In metal inert-gas (MIG) welding process, the tungsten electrode in TIG welding is replaced with a consumable electrode.

    - Therefore, the welding process by Metal Inert-Gas welding is faster than the welding process by Tungsten Inert-Gas welding.

    - The consumable electrode in MIG process acts as a source for the arc column as well as the supply for the filler material.
