    MTTR stands for Mean Time to Repair. It specifies the expected time of repair. Since the MTRR deals is inversely related to the failure rate, it can be represented as,

    MTTR = 1 / λ

    As this failure rate exhibits inversely proportional relationship with the mean time to repair, so the equipment with maximum reliability and maintainability has absolutely minimum (lower) failure rate and shorter downtime respectively.
