µA748 op-amp is similar to µA741 op-amp with the only difference that the internal phase compensation capacitor is absent. If this capacitor of 30 pF is connected between the phase compensation terminals, the unity gain bandwidth is 1MHz.
By using the capacitor of about 3 pF, the effective unity gain bandwidth rises up to 10 MHz. This proves to be quite beneficial especially when high bandwidth is necessary at closed loop gains of specifically 10 or more.
Therefore, this 3 pF capacitor also enhances slew rate by a factor of 10,which ultimately results in increased full power frequency. The rate at which output slews as a comparator is relatively higher than µA741 op-amp.
