Number of tigers estimated at 1706 in 2010 and 2226 in 2015

ANSWER: 1,706
While tiger population is falling the world over, their numbers are increasing in India. Mr Javadekar said, the latest figure is 30 per cent higher than the previous estimate. India has 70 per cent of world’s tigers today and government is also ready to give them to other countries to raise their numbers around the globe.
