    Given: Braking force = 6000 N, mass of the vehicle = 1000 kg, velocity = 30 m/s

    Formula: F = ma

    Solution:

    According to Newton's 2nd law, rate of change of linear momentum is directly proportional to impressed force.

    1) Σ F = ma

    - 6000 + mg sin θ = ma

    substituting the given values,

    a = (- 6000 + mg sin θ) / m

    a = -5.145 m/s2

    2) Using kinematic equation, v2 = u2 + 2as

    0 = (30)2 + 2 x (- 5.145) x s

    s = 900 / 10.29

    s = 87.46 m

    The distance traveled by the car from point A to point B before it stops is 87.46 m
