    Power screw: It is a drive used to convert rotary motion into linear motion for the purpose of power transmission.

    Given: Torque (T) = 150 x 103 N-mm, load (W) = 30 kN, distance (l ) = 10 mm

    Formula: η = Wl / (2 π T)

    here, W =load, T = torque, l is the distance moved by the load

    Solution:

    Substituting the given values we get,

    η = Wl / (2 π T)

    η = 30 x 103 x 10 / (2 x π x 150 x 103 )

    η = 0.3183

    η = 31.83%

    Overall efficiency of power screw is 31.83%
