Given:
Number of teeth = 30, module = 5 mm
Formula:
Tool width = m T sin 90° /T
here, m = module and T = number of teeth
Solution:
Tool width = m T sin 90° /T
Substituting the given values we get,
Tool width = 5 x 30 sin (90° / 30)
= 7.850 mm
Tool width of the flank is 7.850 mm.
