    - Polygon effect is observed in chain drive. Chain drives have positive drive and have high power transmission capacity.

    - The linear belt speed varies when module and chain links move around the radius of sprocket.

    - Polygon effect is observed when sprockets are generally subjected to an acceleration or deceleration and the chain moves in up and down motion.

    - Polygon effect increases for less number of teeth. The increase in chain link joint motion increases chain wear.
