    - In metal casting process hot molten metal is poured into a mould and allowed it to solidify.

    - Molten metal takes time to solidify and unless it solidifies completely, it cannot be removed from the moulding.

    - Therefore, metal casting process is time consuming process.

    - This makes the metal casting process less productive compared to other manufacturing processes like rolling, machining etc.

    - It is not required to melt the metal completely in other manufacturing processes like rolling, machining etc. Therefore these processes are more productive than the metal casting process.
