    Given: α = 80°, α = 50°, initial velocity = 12 m/s

    Solution:

    When α = 80°, u is the initial velocity = 12 m/s

    Distance covered = (u2 sin 2α) / g

    Substituting the given values,

    = (122 sin 2 x 80) / 9.810

    = 5.02 m

    When α = 50°,

    = (122 sin 2 x 50) / 9.81

    = 14.45 m

    The maximum distance covered is 14.45 m when α = 50°
