    - Shaper machine is operated by quick return mechanism.

    - Shaper machine tool has a reciprocating motion and mechanical quick return mechanism is suitable for the reciprocating motion.

    - Shaper machine with quick return mechanism is more suitable for removing large amount of metal, than the other machines such as milling machine.

    - The below diagram shows the working of quick return mechanism in shaper machine.
