The ratio of metal powder volume and volume of external printed part is called as green density. Green density measures how tightly the powder particles are packed in printed part.

    - Green density depends upon compacting speed, particle hardness, compaction pressure, apparent density or particle size.

    - Green density increases if compaction pressure increases.

    - If particle hardness decreases green density increases.

    - Green density of cube, cylinder or tetragon is determined by their weights and dimensions.

    - Green density for irregular shaped compact is measured in air and water by weighing the sample. It is denoted as gm/cc.
